From Summer's Quiet to Fall's Promise

Dear TBI Family,

There's a particular kind of quiet that settles over August — the sound of summer starting to wind down even while the days are still warm. If your house looks anything like mine right now, it's a mix of last beach trips, school-supply lists, and the strange scramble of trying to fit a whole summer's worth of “we should really do that” into the last few weeks before the buses start running again.

I've been doing my own version of that scramble lately — packing up Sophie, as she heads off into her own next chapter. There's something bittersweet about it every year: equal parts pride, nostalgia, and a slightly frantic search for where the good scissors went. If you're in the thick of it too, know that you're in good company.

It feels fitting that this season of packing, sorting, and getting ready overlaps with our own rhythms as a congregation too. As the school buses start rolling again, so does TBI — religious school, programming, and the everyday life of our community all shift back into gear after the quieter summer months.
