A Season Built for Renewal

There's a particular kind of energy that arrives with September. The Rabin Religious School fills back up with the sound of students returning —a little first-day nervousness, and a lot of excitement to see friends and teachers again. Whether your child is walking into that building for the first time or the tenth, it's a reminder of why this community exists: to pass on our traditions, our stories, and our sense of belonging to the next generation.

This year, that back-to-school energy overlaps with something even bigger. September brings us to the High Holidays — Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur — the true start of our New Year. It's a fitting rhythm: our students return to their studies at the very same moment our whole congregation pauses to reflect, to reset, and to look ahead.

I hope you'll join us as we welcome the New Year together. Whether you're in the sanctuary for services, dropping off a student at RRS, or simply catching up with familiar faces in the lobby, this is a season built for renewal — of routines, of relationships, and of our commitment to one another as a congregation.

On behalf of the board, I want to thank our religious school teachers and committee volunteers for the time and heart they put into preparing for this year, and to welcome every family — new and returning — into the year ahead.
